Goethe-Zertifikat A1 (Start German 1) Exam Schedule
The official list below shows reserved time periods, not confirmed exams. Please confirm with your instructor whether or not a course has its final exam in this period.

Locations
The Exam Schedule lists locations where DEP conducts operator certification tests. Please consult individual exam pages for additional guidelines, terms and conditions and exam material. If you need special accommodations because of chronic illness, visual or hearing impairment or other limitations, contact the exam provider and provide the documents when you register.
Faculty may find their exam times through the "View My Teaching Schedule" task on the Faculty Dashboard in Workday. In addition the Registrar's Office has a list of exam times for courses where an exam is required by NYSED regulations. For evening classes exams, they are scheduled during the regular class meeting time during the final week of exams.

Students should therefore inquire with their instructors to confirm the correct date and time of their exam. Students should also print the official list of questions to bring with them to their exam.
In addition to the exam schedule, students should familiarize themselves with the exam guidelines and conditions and terms. They are available on the individual exam page. Upon registration, students acknowledge that they accept these terms and conditions.
Exam sites try their best to accommodate students with special requirements. The nature and extent of these requirements must be declared on the registration form, and then confirmed by an attestation from a doctor. The locations for the exam must be able to respect confidentiality and keep it.
If students are scheduled to take three exams on the same day, they should contact their instructor or department in order to schedule a retake test. It is possible to have three examinations on the same day. However, this could result in a lot of stress and can affect the quality of the exam. Additionally, the professor might not be able to offer a makeup exam on another day.
Students must go through their course materials prior to taking the exam and practice their German skills. The test is a written test that measures your ability to read and write German. The test results are given using a scale of A1 to C2. Students who pass the exam are awarded an Goethe-Zertifikat. The certificate certifies that the student has achieved the level of language A1. This level corresponds to the first stage of the six-level scale of competence laid down in the Common European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages. The test is free. Students are required to carry an ID that is valid for government purposes to the examination. Those without a valid photo identification will be disqualified.
Fees
If you have completed your studies at Elan Academy and wish to obtain a Goethe-Zertifikat A1 (start German 1), you'll need to pay the exam fee. This fee is in addition the course fee.
Practice tests let you get familiar with the format of the test, the language, and the difficulty of the questions on the test. They allow you to assess your understanding, find gaps and increase your chances of acing the test.
It is important to note that the exam fee is not refundable. Exam results are only sent via email and not by phone.
